               Wellness Center 

                 

                                                                 Junior Year, Spring 2020

     The Wellness Center was a commercial project focused on five of the ten concepts of wellness by the Internation WELL Building Institute. The five concepts are fitness, light, mind, materials, and nourishment. 

     The Wellness Center’s interior is a fusion of contemporary and casual design merged with nature-inspired characteristics. As one enters, they are greeted with the aroma of bergamot orange being diffused into the air creating an immediate sense of purpose and purity. White and taupe tones paired with natural ash wood and orange accents coat the environment. Concrete aesthetic floors help create a relaxed atmosphere as well as the mix of casual furnishings and well-appointed minimal fixtures. Moving throughout the space muted orange tones are integrated adding warmth. Shades of green symbolizing nature dominate the specific areas of the interior creating a fresh and tranquil experience for guests. Glass pocket doors are featured in the fitness area and group counselling room communicating inclusivity – all are welcome, and all belong. Transom windows are integrated throughout the space spreading pockets of natural daylight. The private counselling rooms are monochromatically designed in taupe to minimize anxiety for guests and to create warm and secure space. The Wellness Center’s interior is soothing, cheerful, inclusive, clean, and comfortable. Its contemporary design mixed with nature-inspired textures create s a relaxing, yet professional environment suited for all.
