The Bennett Cancer Center was a commercial healthcare project where teams of three students worked together to create a design solution that provided patients and guests with a safe and comforting environment while they sought care. 

     The Bennett Cancer Center provides expert, compassionate care to adults with cancer while furthering the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of cancer. At Bennett’s, we improve the health and quality of life for the patients and caregivers by providing state-of-the-art cancer care.

     The Bennett Cancer Center located in Fargo, North Dakota is a fusion of muted and fluid design inspired by natural elements paired with state-of-the-art patient services and care. Upon entering, one will experience a sense of calmness and trust as they walk into the open waiting and healing garden. Soft greens, yellows and oranges clothe the surfaces while blond wood-tone accents add an element of strength and solidity. The main path of travel is broad and curvaceous, yet mindless to traverse because of its continuous line and distinct markings conveying to users their present whereabouts. Natural light saturates the perimeter of infusion bays then cascades through their glass doors into the remainder interior generating a sense of hope and improved spirits for those who reside in the spaces. An array of waiting and lounge areas containing a pallet of seating options are planted throughout the center providing patients and caretakers comfortable areas to escape and relax. The overall essence of the interior is clean, tranquil, and secure. The variety of quiet tones and well-appointed finishes create a sensation of reassurance and peace for guests undergoing uncharted times.
