Ascend was a commercial project focused on designing a transitional-housing complex geared towards youth aging out of the foster care system. This project was broken into two phases. Phase 1 was partnered and focused on branding and the conceptual design of the community area. Phase 2 was individual and focused on the apartment units.

      The word 'Ascend' was chosen for the name because of the meaning. Ascend means to arise, climb up, and move upward. A positive adjective for a difficult time in life. It also corresponds with the goals of Ascend, equipping young adults to grow and reach their lifelong goals.

     Ascend provides a safe, stable, prosperous space for youth aging out of foster care. The overall branding of the interior will be eminent with bold finishes, luxurious textures, and an inclusive gemstone palette. The gemstones reinforce the mission behind affordable supportive housing by conveying a sense of hope, renewal, and empowerment.
